Department Description

The Investment Accounting team is a diverse group of 46 professionals, representing more than 10 nationalities. The team is responsible for the accounting and administration of all investment-related activities, as well as the preparation of reporting based on this information.

The department consists of two sub-teams: Operations and Support & Control (S&C). The Operations Team focuses on servicing investors and deal teams, while the S&C Team supports Operations and other internal stakeholders.

Tasks and responsibilities of the Investment Accounting Department include:

  • Preparing and validating entries for investment-related transactions, valuations and other data used in the portfolio accounting system
  • Monitoring the integrity of accounting data through ongoing reviews, monthly checks and targeted control projects
  • Developing, preparing and analyzing monthly and annual financial reports
  • Supporting investment teams throughout the deal lifecycle with financial information and analysis
  • Continuously improving policies and procedures
  • Assisting external auditors in financial and control audits
Position Summary

The Tax Reporting Manager will be responsible for managing and controlling accounting processes and procedures, with a strong focus on investor reporting within the Support & Control (S&C) sub-team.

The role provides in-depth exposure to private equity structures, reporting frameworks and systems within a highly professional and international environment.

The Tax Reporting Manager reports to the VP, Head of S&C Reporting, and manages a senior reporting specialist.

Primary Responsibilities

Coordination of reporting activities (10%)

  • Prepare tax reporting outputs and templates, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate tax information requirements across teams and external advisors
  • Act as primary contact for external advisors on tax data submissions
  • Ensure effective tax reporting controls and review processes
  • Drive efficiencies and optimize resource allocation

Accounting and Reporting (60%)

  • Identify and meet tax reporting requirements of internal and external stakeholders
  • Assess tax treatments under IFRS and US GAAP for complex transactions
  • Prepare and maintain tax position memos and documentation
  • Ensure integrity and consistency of tax reporting data
  • Translate complex fund and legal structures into accurate reporting outputs
  • Draft and update financial statement disclosures
  • Review and analyze financial reports to ensure completeness and accuracy

Projects (20%)

  • Execute project tasks and support planning and implementation
  • Coordinate stakeholders and monitor progress

Develop Professionals (10%)

  • Coach and train team members
  • Support development of reporting capabilities
  • Manage a senior reporting specialist
Requirements, Education & Certificates
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Business Economics or Business Administration
  • Professional qualification (RA, CA, CPA or equivalent); tax qualification is a strong plus
  • Strong knowledge of tax, accounting and financial reporting (IFRS / US GAAP)
  • Experience within financial services is preferred
Professional Experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in accounting / control
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
