The majority of these funds are invested in private equity funds globally, including secondary transactions, with the remainder invested directly in companies as a co-investor (equity and mezzanine) in Europe, North America and non-traditional markets. Department Description

The Financial Accounting team is an integral component of the Finance and Operations division at the holding, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This team is pivotal in handling the consolidated financial accounting and reporting for the holding and its subsidiaries and affiliated entities. Organized into two sub-teams—GL Accounting/Controlling and Reporting/Financial Planning & Analysis—the Financial Accounting team collaborates closely with the Accounts Payable team. Key responsibilities of the GL Accounting/Controlling sub-team include:

  • Recording revenues such as Management Fees and Carried Interests for management entities.
  • Accruing expenses for management entities.
  • Handling bank transactions and investments.
  • Analyzing monthly P&L deviations, including actual versus budget and reforecast comparisons.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and reconciling all balance sheet accounts.
  • Updating and maintaining accounting policies across various GAAPs.
  • Assisting with auditing inquiries.

The team maintains strong collaborative ties with the Investment Accounting, Treasury, Portfolio & Risk
Analysis, and Legal & Tax teams to enhance and refine processes and controls. We value initiative,

Position Summary

The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Financial Accounting and oversee four direct
reports. Responsibilities include leading the GL accounting area, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and managing financial information for stakeholders. The role requires hands-on leadership, a commitment
to accuracy, and the ability to foster strong inter-departmental relationships.

Primary Responsibilities

Accounting and control

  • Manage GL accounting across all entities, ensuring timeliness and quality.
  • Validate transactions and information in compliance with Dutch and US GAAP.
  • Oversee the proper allocation and recovery of recoverable items.
  • Maintain updated accounting policies and training materials.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing and consolidation processes using People Soft and
    One Stream.

Procedures and audits

  • Enforce policies and control procedures.
  • Develop and implement process improvements.
  • Keep accounting policies and process descriptions current.
  • Facilitate financial, SOX, and ISAE audits.

Management

  • Directly oversee four direct reports.
  • Provide training and coaching to the Financial Accounting Team.3)
  • Assist in managing other focus areas like AP/AR, financial reporting, and planning.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance is required, RA or RC is preferred.
  • Registered Accountant or Registered Controller certification is preferred.A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in accounting, reporting, and planning.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a structured manner.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills along with proficient English communication skills, both written and
    oral.
  • Have experience with work-related costs scheme bookings
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Experience with data visualization tools and Macros is advantageous.
