The position of Project Controller is based in our Food & Dairy Systems business where we develop, build, supply and maintain machines and systems for the longer shelf life and (aseptic) filling of foods and drinks in consumer packaging. Our head office is located in Amsterdam, but our machines and systems are installed worldwide in the dairy and beverage industry. We are a business that operates in a knowledge-intensive and dynamic environment and our customers are the largest players in the FMCG market.
Our Amsterdam Finance & Control department is looking for someone who is eager to join us as a Project Controller. You will be part of the Amsterdam Finance & Control team, comprising of four people reporting into the Site Controller.
Profile
As a Project Controller at JBT Food & Diary Systems you’re responsible for supporting our machine building team in the broadest sense. You have an analytical mindset and are not afraid of reaching out to all kind of stakeholders involved. You do this from a strong theoretical background in applicable accounting policies making use of strong hard skills in MS Excel and our ERP system JD Edwards. You are eager to help develop BI Dashboards as part of your supporting role. Furthermore, you have several compliance related tasks as part of our periodic closing procedures.
We expect you to have a hands-on approach; you’re not afraid to take one for the team. In doing this, you always strive for process improvements converting manual tasks to a system-based operations. You work closely with our Project Management team as well as all direct reports to our Site Director such a Head of Procurement, Head of Operations, Head of Engineering.
A typical working day of our Project Cost Controller
After arriving at the Amsterdam office, you check for any urgent inquiries that could have come in overnight to pick up with priority. You jump to a meeting with the APAC Install & Commission team for the operational status update of the projects running in the field. After this meeting you spend time on building and improving BI dashboards with ability to drill-down from total project overview to transactional detail level per project, benchmarked against Budget values.
After lunch break you prepare with the Business Controller and Operations Data Analyst the Weekly Management Report for the total site. In between you answer several emails from colleagues on project details and you send several emails out making sure project progress operationally achieved is recognized in the ERP system.
Later in the afternoon you connect with your counterpart in the US on the status of an intercompany project that partly runs through their books. After preparing and sending out the Project cashflow forecast to upper management you finalize your day with processing some pre-approvals of project invoices that came through from the Madrid Shared Service Centre.
What would we like to see on your resume
For this role we believe attitude and motivation favors prior working experience hence we are open for a starter in project control to hit the ground running in this key role for our Amsterdam business. The ideal candidate has a Master/Bachelor degree in Accountancy /Business Economics and fluent in English, both verbal as written. Speaking and/or understanding Dutch is a plus. We seek someone able to handle working with tight deadlines and excellent communication skills towards an international audience. Prior working experience in MS Excel, JD Edwards or Power BI gives you an advantage in the job application, as well as having done financial project. You are already working in the Netherlands and are eligible to do so.

Annual salary is between € 65-75k, depending on relevant working experience.
